The end of an era…

Some sad news reported by Jim Meehan: Larry Gurganious is leaving the program.  Gurganious’ three years at GU can best be described as “disappointing,” if only because his role became funkified, and his minutes followed suit.  For a reason that remains unknown, in the last five games of last season, games in which the Zags went 3-2, Gurganious played a total of 20 minutes.  Though the official stated reason for the transfer is the dreaded “family issues,” I can’t help but wonder if those issues might have been handled in Spokane at Gonzaga by a better-used Gurganious.

Regardless, it’s definitely the end of a great era in La Rev-given GU nicknames.  So long, Gurgalicious.  We hardly knew ye.

Go Zags.
