I am so fed up with this team. I don’t know what bugs me the most: Pargo’s selfish desperation; Daye’s stubborn immaturity; Heytvelt’s continued inability to concentrate; Few’s resigned confusion; whatever Micah Downs does in practice that denies him playing time…

Bouldin is the only guy who doesn’t make me want to kick my dog.

Where exactly am I being fair-weather? I didn’t boo. I didn’t say the team was dead to me. All I’m saying is that I know they’ll lose early in the tourney and I’m fine with that. Weird thing: I got crucified for saying I wasn’t fine with it early in the season. Now that I am fine with it, I’m getting crucified as well.

Officially, I’m fine and not fine.

There’s something liberating in forsaking hope and expectations. No hopes to be dashed, no being haunted by -what-ifs. If anything, it’ll make Gonzaga more likely to win, as they might pull one out to spite me. But I doubt it.

I think part of the booing at the end of the game (from my part, as well, albeit halfheartedly) was that people had trekked from all over. “I didn’t fly from Boston to watch you guys bury your heads in your rectums,” etc etc.

I’m pretty down on these guys too. But I wouldn’t say I’m without hope.

The guys do play defense well, and that will keep us in a lot of games.

Our offense sucks. This shouldn’t be surprising, though. I’ve been watching that 3 man weave thing for the last 10 years or so, and so have the other teams in the WCC. It’s not surprising that they’ve figured us out by now. I really miss that sweet inbound play we used to run to perfection when we have the ball under our opponents basket and we set a couple picks and send our guard sprinting down the court for a long pass and dunk… but the problem is that we fooled everyone with that like 4 years ago, and we’re still trying to do the same thing. We ran it like twice last night.

So maybe we are good, but maybe all the teams we play just know what we’re up to now and are playing us better because of it.

Here is some info from the myth, the man, the legend. The team is still dead to me right now! I did not watch last nights game. Instead I drank beer, worked on the snowmobile, took the dog for a walk, and then went to the bar down the street for a few more cold ones. I didn’t even the record the game. The team will at some point scratch their way back. Just ask Murph, he was dead to me for part of the weekend. As for the wandering around the arena, I will admit that there are few hazy minutes in which time seems to have been lost. But most of the second half I was standing and watching the game behind who I believe to be GU’s film crew. I ended meeting a guy named Jim, and we basically called out this team for playing like a bunch of p#$$$!*$. We also decided that Rambo should start and play the entire game from here on out. He seems to be the only one who plays balls to the wall. At first the film crew seemed disturbed by our remarks and were rolling their eyes, but by the end of the game a few of them were actually nodding their heads. If those video have mics on them, the coaching staff is going to have some very interesting commentating to listen too. I think Bob Knight might actually want to put on “Ear Muffs”. The best part though was Jim asking me were I was from. His response was “Alaska, God damn that is long ways away. Come to O’Doherty’s after the game, your tab is on me.” For the safety of the Greater Spokane area it was probably good that I got side tracked. I am in agreement with LaRev that these guys just didn’t have the passion for the game Saturday night that I was expecting and was accustomed too from teams of the past!

This A&T guy sounds hilarious.

The sign I brought to the game that night was promptly ripped in two pieces about halfway through the second half. I’ll totally cop to being one of those who booed that night.
